  • Care for heart failure and post-catheterization procedure patients by administering medications such as Lasix and Amiodarone.
  • Manage chest tubes by changing dressings, adjusting suction, and measuring output via surgeon orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other health care team members for general treatment and during treat teams and code blues. 
  • Discharge, transfer, and admit patients from the emergency room, catheterization lab, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and Neuro Intensive Care Unit
  • Administer blood to anemic clients as needed
  • Educate on heart-healthy diets for patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafts and heart catheterizations and on carb-controlled diets for diabetic patients
