Playing Pokemon Go Around the Globe
Pokemon Go is still a thing right??? Well, anyways, I really like playing Pokemon Go while I travel. Before I get technical, I am going to explain the gist of the game. In Pokemon Go, you walk around your park, neighborhood, or wherever, and try to catch all of these Pokemon creatures to fill your Pokedex.
Some of these Pokemon are regional, meaning that they only appear in certain parts of the world. These Pokemon include Tauros (North-American exclusive), Kangaskhan (Australian exclusive), Mr. Mime (European exclusive), Farfetch’d (Asian exclusive), Heracross (South-American exclusive), and Corsola (Tropical region exclusive).
Catching Pokemon in other countries is like bringing home a free souvenir in my opinion. When you catch a Pokemon, you can find everything about them at the bottom of the screen in your Pokebox. You can see location, what type of Pokeball you used to catch it, etc.
Some other things you can do in Pokemon Go include battling and defeating Gyms, hatching Pokemon eggs, and defeating raid bosses.
Put as many Pokemon on Gyms as possible; doing this will earn you PokeCoins and Stardust. Stardust helps you power up your Pokemon for a more effective battle and allows you to evolve Pokemon. Defeating and battling Gyms can also earn you major XP so that you can level up your trainer.
When you are on vacation, make sure to walk your Pokemon eggs! With all the walking we do, we might get 10 or 12 eggs hatched in one trip!
In raids, you can get a group of up to 20 people together and try to defeat certain Pokemon. When and if you can defeat the Pokemon, you can then catch it, but be forewarned that these raid bosses are not easy to catch at ALL.
These are the number of players I recommend for raid bosses:
- Level 1 raid bosses: 1-2 players
- Level 2 raid bosses: 2-3 players
- Level 3 raid bosses: 3-4 players
- Level 4 raid bosses: 4-6 players
- Level 5 raid bosses: 10 + players
Pokemon Go has recently added the immensely-hard-to-defeat legendary raid bosses Lugia, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. Being pure-type Pokemon, these legendaries are extremely hard to defeat and catch. If you are going to attempt this grueling challenge, make sure that you have researched the type of Pokemon and the move sets needed to defeat these beasts.
